Hydration stations sweep colleges to promote tap water
I actually discovered this article last week but forgot to post it. I REALLY believe that HPU should look into this kind of system. Not only is it a great way to reduce bottle water use, but also it could allow for students to find a healthier alternative to soda and other sugary drinks. Obesity is also a major problem among today's population.

Two Videos...
So first of the two videos, 24 Hours of Reality: http://youtu.be/PY-mboZkhD0
Super Short video, but very effective. Wish I had seen some of the live streams, but did not check my email soon enough. :(
The second video, The Story of Stuff :http://youtu.be/9GorqroigqM
Thought this was an excellent video. I loved the drawings, and the simple explanations! I completely agree with everything, and loved it all. I loved that she made a point to express that WE the people, not the government can make the change.

What would go first at the end of the world?
This is the first post for my course. The last class was really interesting, and even though it is long time wise, it felt like it went by quickly. I like classes like that. I was most interested in the subject of living off the grid in Maui! That seems so cool, I would love to know what it feels like to live like other people do in countries that are less developed. I have done backpacking trips that last 10 days in which you have no tents, just tarps, and you use iodine to drink your water, and gather most of your food after day 4 or 5. This I feel like would be an even better experience.
I thought it would be interesting to know what would go first if living in a active war zone, or if the world as we knew it would end. I used Stumbleupon to find this piece of gold information. I found things like at the end of the page where it said, many would trade a small bit of food just to feel like a normal human being again, to have things like soap, toothpaste, etc. Because they are huge morale boosters. I think that if things continue to become so destructive between the human population and the environment something like this could happen, and these 100 items are going to be far more precious than gold. http://www.thepowerhour.com/news/items_disappearfirst.htm.
